Janakpur is the headquarters of Dhanusha district and it was named after King Janak. It is at a distance of 380 kilometers from Kathmandu. In 1811 A.D the magnificent Janaki Mandir was built by the Queen Maharani Brishabhanu Kunwari Devi of Tikamgarh (India) as a mark of devotion to Janaki (Goddess Sita). The marriage anniversary of Lord Rama and Sita is solemnized in Janakpur every year on Vivah Panchami day which falls in December. This is one of the biggest festivals of this region attended by hundreds and thousands of devotees from Nepal and India. A place known as Dhanusha Dham is near Janakpur town which connects with the great Hindu epic Ramayana. According to the epic, one of the three pieces of the Great Bow that Lord Rama broke to win Sita's hand in marriage fell on this site - in present-day Dhanusha Dham.

JANAKPUR TOUR Day-by-day ITINERARY
Welcome to Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, received by sherpa Expedition and trekking and transferred to Hotel with a briefing regarding Janakpur Tour, hotels, lodge on the route with doing and don’ts.
After breakfast you will be transferred to the Airport for your Jankapur flight (35 minutes) and (7hours) drive, check in to the hotel and a brief sightseeing trip in surrounded areas.
Early Morning at the religious place Ram Janaki Temple, explore the place, get to know more about the history of Ram and Sita and back to hotel have breakfast and visit the nearby place and overnight at the hotel.
Have breakfast, and today you will fly back to Kathmandu which takes about 35 minutes. Get in the hotel, rest for some hours and have lunch, visit nearby place in Thamel and do shopping for your near ones and have dinner and overnight at hotel.
